When center Chase Balisy (Fullerton) looks around the locker room at his next playing spot, chances are he will see some familiar faces.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Balisy recently signed to play at Western Michigan, where he will join fellow recruit Dennis Brown (Placentia) and California holdovers Brett Beebe (Redondo Beach), J.J. Crew (Placentia), P.J. Kavaya (San Clemente) and Matt Tennyson (Pleasanton). No Division I program has as many Californians on its roster.
Balisy, who played for the U.S. National Team Development Program the past two seasons, tallied 26 points (9 goals, 17 assists) this past year on the U18 squad after scoring 39 (12-27) on the U17 team the previous season.
"Chase is a very smart, skilled centerman," Coach Jeff Blashill said. "He controls the puck very well and does a great job distributing it."
