Torf commits to Air Force

Jason Torf of Hermosa Beach had a .916 save percentage for Motor City of the NAHL this past season.

Goaltender Jason Torf (Hermosa Beach) has committed to play collegiately at Air Force Academy.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Torf, a '91 birth year, had a 9-10 record with a 2.85 goals-against average and .916 save percentage in 24 games for the Motor City Metal Jackets of the NAHL this past season.

He played minor hockey at Culver Academy (Ind.). Torf also was a 15th-round selection of the Sioux Falls Stampede in last month's USHL Entry Draft. He was one of 11 Californians selected.

"We are extremely proud of Jason's intent to attend Air Force." Jackets coach David Cole told the team's Web site.  "Jason has worked extremly hard and was a key addition to our organization.  We believe he is going to a great program with a wonderful coach & staff."
