Brian McDonough

The founder of Good Sport Media, Inc., Brian McDonough, a Parsippany, N.J., native, serves as president of the Minneapolis-based company which specializes in sports publishing and media relations, graphic design and Web site consulting.

McDonough's roots run deep in the sports media and publishing industry. The co-founder of the nationally-circulated USA Junior Hockey Magazine, McDonough has also worked for the ECHL, Minnesota Junior Hockey League, North American Hockey League and United States Hockey League in various capacities.

He is also the publisher of Arizona Rubber Magazine, the authoritative voice of ice and inline hockey in the Valley.

McDonough, 34, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Boston College and resides in Minneapolis.

Chris Bayee

Chris Bayee brings nearly two decades of daily newspaper and online content experience, including seven years at the Orange County Register, to California Rubber Magazine.

He has also covered the USHL and NCAA Division I and III hockey in Wisconsin.

A Los Angeles resident, Bayee, an avid men’s league player, is writing a book about the history of hockey in California.

Phillip Brents

Phillip Brents, a native of Chula Vista, has been involved in professional journalism either as a writer, photographer or sports editor since 1979.

Brents has earned repeated awards from the California Newspapers Publishers Association, San Diego Press Club and Society of Professional Journalists-San Diego Chapter for excellence in journalism. He has served as the sports editor for The Star-News, a weekly newspaper in Chula Vista, since 1991.

He has written extensively on hockey, both ice and roller, over the past two decades, including regular beat newspaper coverage of Roller Hockey International and minor professional, junior and collegiate ice hockey.

Brents holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Astronomy from the University of Southern California.

Lindsay Czarnecki

Lindsay Czarnecki played four years of Division III hockey at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.

She was a two-time all-conference player and captain for the Cobbers and was also the sports editor of the college newspaper for two years.

Following graduation, she worked as the sports editor for the Crookston Daily Times in Crookston, Minn. She returned home to California in 2007 and has since worked for two newspapers in the Los Angeles Newspaper Group as both a sports writer and page designer.

Czarnecki, a 25-year-old from Riverside, played on the inaugural Anaheim Lady Ducks’ 19U team and has coached in the LA Selects’ girls system for the past two seasons.

In addition to her work with California Rubber Magazine, DJ Powers is also in her eighth season covering men’s college hockey for the online prospects magazine, Hockey's Future.

Powers, who resides in San Rafael, has also covered men’s college hockey for the Calgary-based Future Considerations Magazine, a prospects-based Web site.

Powers, who has covered hockey from the youth to professional levels in her nearly 11 years in the business, has contributed to numerous Web sites and blogs, including CSTV (now CBS College Sports) and the University of Michigan.

Jennifer Hron

A member of the Good Sport Media family since 2006, Jennifer Hron helped launch Arizona Rubber Magazine by providing design and copy editing assistance through the magazine's initial months. She serves currently as the senior designer of California Rubber Magazine, which launched in January 2008.

Jennifer's sports media experience includes service in the amateur, university and professional scene, having worked in various capacities ranging from media relations to graphic design since her start as a sports information intern at the University of Minnesota Duluth in the late 1990s.

The Minnesota native holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a Master of Science degree in Education from St. Cloud State University.
